Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS) is an outfit initiated by C-DAC R&D in 1993 as part of the mandate to generate quality manpower to address the growing demand of human resources in the extremely fast moving sector of IT. It offers a range of basic to advanced courses, spanning a wide spectrum in the field of ICT in the form of regular six month training programmes to Engineering graduates and also corporate training to the various defence organizations / PSUs /corporate.
C-DAC's Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS) is dedicated to creating high quality manpower for C-DAC in particular and the IT industry in general through the designing and delivering various courses. Around 5000 students have passed out since its inception. They are today successful employees of many Multinational and Premier Indian IT companies, and many of them have become successful entrepreneurs.
ACTS has been facilitating the provision of IT Training to a large number of students in a quality mode. As a testimony of this STQC has awarded an ISO 9001-2000 to ACTS Bangalore. C-DAC, ACTS conducts IT Training Programmes for the organized sector including Indian Army, Indian Air force, Bharat Electronics Ltd, Samsung India Ltd , Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau etc for conducting various ICT training programmes for their personnel. ACTS engages highly qualified, experienced and devoted faculties from CDAC R&D and domain experts from IT industry. ACTS courses are having unique curriculum with flexibility to make changes in it to keep pace with the fast changes in technology & industry requirements. All advanced courses are designed in consultation with industry experts and in collaboration with leading publishers. Formal soft skills sessions and cross cultural training are also incorporated into the course curriculum. Thus ACTS courses are widely accepted by the industry. Students for these courses are selected through national level Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by ACTS in three stages. As a part of the curriculum students are given real life project exposure using software engineering practices, which make them readily available by the IT industry. ACTS emerged as the top finishing school in IT training through its unique curriculum and in anticipating upcoming requirements of IT industry by launching new courses. Through its state of art training methodology, it is fulfilling its objective of creating highly skilled IT resources and recognized by major corporates in India to be a preferred high-end provider of skilled manpower in areas of ICT. More than ninety percent of its students get placed and acquiring high positions in the industry. At one front, Institute is assisting several third world Nations to leap frog into IT and at the other hand bridging the digital divide of urban and rural students
